Aspen Mountain is the next step up in size of the Colorado ski resorts in Aspen. Aspen Mountain is 673 acres covered by 300 inches of snow annually. Just over half of the terrain is suited for expert skiing and the rest is for intermediate skiers. This mountain has a vertical drop of 3,267 feet and is not meant for beginners. The skiers with enough skill for Aspen Mountain can ski directly into town for shopping or food before hitting the slopes again.
Aspen Highlands offers the most diverse terrain out of the four Aspen Colorado ski resorts. According to SkiAspenColorado.net, out of 131 runs, 18% of the ski trails are suited for beginners, 30% are intermediate, and 52% are for expert skiers. The 790 acres that make up Aspen Highlands accommodates all levels of talent and is a good choice for groups with varying skills.

Snowboarders can also enjoy the halfpipe at this most impressive of Colorado ski resorts. The terrain on Snowmass varies to suit any skier's abilities and desires.
These four Colorado ski resorts can all be accessed from resort accommodations in the city of Aspen. Resort accommodations vary a great deal in price for the different Colorado ski resorts. If a traveler does not mind sharing a room, a bed at St. Moritz Lodge costs only $35 a night in September. This fee includes access to a communal bathroom, pool and steam room, free continental breakfast, cable TV, high speed internet, laundry facilities and daily housekeeping. The rooms are simple with no decorations, white walls and three single-sized beds packed in a tiny space. But people with a tight budget just in Aspen to experience skiing at all the Aspen Colorado ski resorts, can take advantage of the affordable price of resort accommodations at St. Moritz lodge.
On the other end of the scale, luxurious Colorado ski resorts accommodations are available at The Gant. The Gant condominiums can cost over $2,000 and are elaborately decorated and furnished. High ceilings and attractive artwork make the condos feel like a comfortable museum rather than a hotel. Two outdoor heated pools, hot tubs and saunas among other amenities are available for all guests. The suites offer fireplaces, full kitchens, private balconies or patios, among other comforts of home.
