One of the most popular vacation spots in the South West is Lake Tahoe. An average room at a South Lake Tahoe motel will be around $75 to $100 per night with standard accommodations. The price may vary as the seasons change, and travelers that don't mind a little extra distance can get a decent South Lake Tahoe motel outside of town for a little bit of a discount.

A little more expensive option is a South Lake Tahoe hotel. In addition to the chain hotels, there are a few different specialty models of South Lake Tahoe hotel to catch the visitor's interest. Places like the 3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club and Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge and Spa offer nicer rooms, more accommodations, and more access to the various attractions than the standard hotels and motels around town. These places tend to fill up quite fast, but even in season they are more affordable than some of the lavish places in other prime resort areas. Travelers can expect to spend anywhere from $90 to $500 per night.

Skiing season usually attracts the wealthy and snow lovers, who descend on South Lake Tahoe like migrating birds to enjoy the world class skiing resorts. Many of these individuals choose to stay in luxury, and for those travelers, condos and lodges are available. Accommodations at the South Lake Tahoe resorts like the Bavarian village can get rather pricey for long stays, but at $89 per night to start, even tourists in town for a weekend can enjoy a more relaxed stay near all the action for a relatively modest amount of money.

There's no doubt that South Lake Tahoe is going to be a hotspot for water and skiing lovers every year. For those who choose to spend their vacation dollars visiting this gem of a lake, there are many fun ways to spend time and money in South Lake Tahoe. Motels, hotels, condos, and lodges are all available for use and mostly at very affordable rates. South Lake Tahoe has a lot to offer individuals of many different economic standings, interests, and backgrounds, which is why it is one of the fastest growing tourist hotspots in the U.S.
